One of the leading members of the UK’s coalition Government found time in his busy schedule to visit the Global Energy Group recently.

First Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander, MP for Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey, was welcomed to Global’s offices in Henderson Road, Inverness, by Chairman Roy MacGregor.

Mr MacGregor and director Iain MacGregor explained the group’s successful growth in the UK and internationally and outlined future development plans during an hour-long briefing.

Mr MacGregor said:  “We were very pleased to welcome Danny here, both as one of our local MPs and a member of the Cabinet.  It’s rare to get the opportunity to have a long informal briefing and chat with such an influential figure in the UK Government.

“I think he was impressed by what we had to tell him about Global and the contribution the company is making to the economy of Scotland and the UK.  It was also fascinating to hear at first hand his analysis of the economic issues we are all facing in the coming months and years.”
